This Oak framed extension, which we raised earlier in 2016 in the Chew Valley area, Somerset, has now been beautifully transformed into a stunning family home. As part of a cottage refurbishment, the Oak framed addition accommodates a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a dressing room on the first floor. A glass bridge with a void on either side connects the upstairs of the new extension to the space below and to the original cottage. This section is fully glazed on both side elevations and along the roof line, providing plenty of natural light for both the new and old part of the house. On the ground floor, the open-plan kitchen with dining area leads into a single storey Oak framed living room, where bifold doors allow for maximum natural light inside and a seamless connection to the spacious patio and garden.
